1588 Letter confiscated from an illegal immigrant when arrested

Individual Chinese also remitted money home to their families and villages as well as contributing to larger fund raising activities. This untranslated letter (in Chinese characters) is from a market gardener’s father asking for donations for a village watchtower. It was confiscated from the market gardener when he was charged with being an illegal immigrant.
