Deputation and follow up correspondence complains about how Chinese were being forced to comply with both the Commonwealth Immigration Restriction Act and the NSW Immigration Restriction Act. The file includes a newspaper article in the Daily Telegraph reporting on the deputation (not clear enough for reproduction), government notes on the deputation, Mei Quong Tart’s follow up letter and the government responses to this letter.
